Florissant Partners With Walgreens
For Mass Vaccination Event April 14
Event will be held at James Eagan Center

 

Mayor Timothy Lowery has announced that the City of Florissant and the Florissant Walgreens will co-host a mass vaccination event on Wednesday, April 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the James J. Eagan Center located at #1 James J. Eagan Center Drive. The event will be held in the gymnasium.
The second round of the vaccine will be administered on Wednesday, May 12.
Walgreens is in the process of putting together a flyer that will have a QCR code for those that want to pre-registered and the city will post the flyer on the city’s website and all of the city’s social media outlets. Walk-ins will be accepted while supplies last. There are approximately 500 to 600 doses available.
Walgreens plans on having more events in Florissant when more vaccines become available.
Mayor Lowery thanked Walgreens and the Florissant Walgreen’s District Manager Kevin Block for this opportunity for the residents to get vaccinated and to continue in keeping our community safe and healthy during the current pandemic.
*Masks will be required, temperatures will be taking and social distancing guidelines will be in place per the St. Louis County Department of Public Health current mandates.
The state will open vaccine eligibility to all Missourians this Friday, April 9. In the past month, there have been several major vaccination events held in St. Louis County,
On Saturday, March 20, an event was held at North County Recreation Complex specifically targeting some of our most vulnerable areas in north St. Louis County. A second vaccination event targeting North County zip codes occurred on March 25 at the Metro North Fire District. Approximately 500 people were served at that event.
The County sponsored an event targeted to school personnel on March 23 and 24 that vaccinated approximately 2,000 school personnel. A mass vaccination event with the National Guard occurred on March 26 and 27 at Queeny Park at 550 Weidman Road. That event was so successful that an additional mass vaccination clinic at Queeny Park was held this past Thursday. This Thursday another a mass vaccination event will be held at the Kennedy Recreation Center, 6050 Wells Road.
