Hazelwood District ACT Workshops For October Exam Begin Saturday

Students preparing to take the ACT college entrance exam on October 24 can take advantage of workshops hosted by the Hazelwood School District.

The workshops are divided into two sessions. Session 1, ACT Test Taking Strategies, is offered in six-hour time frames and is free; Session 2, ACT Content Review and Strategies for Math, Science and English, is offered in six-hour time frames for a $10 fee. Workbooks are included with Session 2.

Each high school – Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East and Hazelwood West – is hosting study sessions. Workshops are scheduled on Saturdays, after school, evenings and during the school day. To be eligible for reimbursement of the ACT registration fee and/or an ACT fee waiver voucher, students must complete a six-hour workshop.

Workshops held during the school day are announced in the buildings; the target dates are October 12-23 . School day sessions cover two periods of math and science and two periods of communication arts and reading.

Students must sign up for the workshops in the guidance office at Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East and Hazelwood West high schools. Seating is limited to 60 per workshop.
