IWA Hosts District Girls Volleyball,

Lutheran North Hosts Boys Soccer

Incarnate Word Academy, winners of 11 State Girls Volleyball Championships will hosts not only Class Three, District Six but also, if the Red Knights win, Sectional Two.

Class Three, District Six is a seven-team tournament to take place Oct. 28-31.       Joining IWA is Trinity Catholic, Duchesne, Jennings, Normandy, University City and St. Charles High. As of 3:25 p.m. Oct. 21 the tournament schedule, including seeds, were not available, and the top seed will likely get a first-round bye and play only one day. The District Champion host Sectional Two Nov. 2.

    CLASS FOUR, DISTRICT FIVE AT RITENOUR — On Oct. 28 at Costilow Fieldhouse fourth-seed Hazelwood West and fifth-seed Hazelwood East open at 4 p.m. second-seed Ritenour and seventh-seed McCluer follow at 5:30 and third-seed McCluer North meets sixth-seed Riverview Gardens to close out day one at 7 p.m.

    Top-seed Hazelwood Central begins Oct. 30 with a 4 p.m. match against Hazelwood West or Hazelwood East, Ritenour or McCluer plays McCluer North or Riverview at 5:30 and the two winners meet for the district title at 7 p.m. That district winner advances to Sectional Two Nov. 2 at the District Six winner.

    CLASS TWO, DISTRICT SIX AT WHITFIELD — Fourth-seed Lutheran North opens Oct. 28 with a 4:30 match against fifth-seed Bowling Greed and the winner closes Oct. 29 with a 6 p.m. match with top seed O’Fallon (Living Word) Christian. Third Seed STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley and North Tech meet to close Oct. 28 with a 6 p.m. match and the winner opens Oct. 29 with a 4:30 match against second-seed Whitfield.

   The Oct. 29 winners advance to the Oct. 30, 5 p.m. final match for the right to host Sectional Two on Nov. 2. Sectional winners advance to the State Championships, Nov.8-9 at the Show-Me Center, Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.

    BOYS SOCCER — Lutheran North, Fourth in Class one State last year, will host Class One, District Three, competing against STEAM Academy at McCluer South-Berkeley, Collegiate School of Medicine and BioScience, Canton and Elsberry. Districts are Nov. 2-6 and the district champion will advance to the Nov. 16 quarterfinals.

    Elsewhere Trinity is in Class Two, District Four at defending State Champion John Burroughs and North Tech is in Class Two, District Six at St. Charles West, In-Class Three Hazelwood East, is in District Four at Ladue-Horton Watkins while McCluer is in District Six at defending state champion Forth Zumwalt South.   Moreover, in Class Four Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood West and McCluer North are in District Six at Pattonville Stadium District winners from districts three and five host the Nov. 13 sectionals. They will play against the winners from districts four and six. Quarterfinals are Nov. 16, Semifinals, third-place and championship matches are Nov. 22-23 at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton.
