Cross Country, Girls Volleyball Districts Start Later this Month

High School Cross Country, Girls Volleyball will have district tournaments later this month beginning with Class Four Cross Country on Oct 24.

Girls Volleyball begins on Oct. 26 while Classes One, Two and Three Cross Country will have districts Oct. 31, the same date as Girls Volleyball sectionals/quarterfinals and Class Four Cross Country sectionals. State Volleyball, in Kansas City, will be held Nov. 6-7 while the State Cross Country championships will be held, Nov. 7, in Jefferson City.

CROSS COUNTRY (boys and girls, unless noted) — McCluer North will host the Class Four, District Three meet with Chaminade (boys only), Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, Incarnate Word Academy (girls only), McCluer North, McCluer, Nerinx Hall (girls only), Normandy, Ritenour, St. Joseph’s Academy (girls only), St. Louis University High (boys only), and Webster Groves in the field. Pattonville will be in Class Four, District Four at McNair Park, St. Charles. The top four teams and runners in the top 30 from Districts

Three and Four will advance to sectionals, Oct. 31 at site to be announced.

Class Two, District Two will be at Spanish Lake Park with Lutheran North serving as host with Cleveland Naval Jr. ROTC, John Burroughs, John F. Kennedy, Metro, Northwest Academy of Transportation and Law, The Principia, St. Elizabeth Academy (girls only) and Whitfield competing. Meanwhile McCluer South-Berkeley and Jennings compete in Class Three, District Four at Mexico, Mo. The top two teams and runners in the top 15 from Spanish Lake and Mexico, Mo., advance to state.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL — McCluer High will host Class Four, District Six with Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, McCluer North and Riverview Gardens competing. Incarnate Word Academy will host Class Four, District Five with Gateway Tech, Normandy, Ritenour, Roosevelt and Sumner competing while Pattonville will be in Class Four, District Seven at Francis Howell North. Those Class Four district winners will compete at McCluer North in the sectional tournament which includes the quarterfinal round.
