Rams Fans Will Need Patience; Team Needs a Quality Receiver

BY RANDY GARDNER
I said at the beginning of the year that we would be optimistic about this Rams , and after a pretty good preseason I think most people were giving this team somewhat of a chance.

The first game came and went and we saw a team that just didn’t look good at any position. We saw the same woes with the offensive line and the lack of being able to control the ball on offense in the passing game.

The second game against Washington was a little bit better but once again the offense sputtered. The wide receivers are young and inexperienced and that is really hurting this team right now.

Steven Jackson got over 100 yards but he cannot be expected week-in and week-out to carry this team on his back because with no option of the pass, it’s all up to him.

I think this is going to be an ongoing problem all year; we just have to be patient and hope that the Rams can find a good receiver in the mean time to pick up the slack, no matter what they have to pay him.

Hope Cards’ Sept. Slump is Over

The Cards are giving most people around St. Louis the nervous fits. They play well, then they falter, luckily against the Cubs, they were able to pick up 2 of 3 and close the magic number dramatically. If they were going to hit a stumbling block, I was really glad that they are hitting it now before the October playoffs begin.

How sweet is it to say October baseball once again? There is nothing better than bundling up to watch a baseball game especially when it is the Cardinals in the hunt for a Championship.

Everyone Awaiting Blues Season

The Blues are just about ready to go. The team made its final cuts down to 30 this past week and I think it is going to be a great season for this team. Coming off a successful year last year making it to the playoffs, there is nothing less expected of this team this year.

The ownership as I have mentioned in the past has done a wonderful job bringing this team back to life and has sold over 10,000 season tickets, it’s almost like days of old. The mixture of young talent along with veteran leadership is the right mixture for success in this league. It’s along season though just like baseball and injuries can play a major part in success or failure.

Let’s go Redbirds, Blues and the Rams!!
