No Women’s Soccer at SLCC-Florissant Valley
St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley will not be playing Women’s Soccer for the third year having last played in 2006. Women’s Soccer won the National Junior College Athletic Association title in 1988 and 1990, the last year Florissant Valley has won an NJCAA title in any sport. Women’s Soccer last won the Region XVI title in 2005 and last had a winning record in 2003.
Florissant Valley Men’s Soccer, who has won 10 NJCAA Soccer titles (1967-1989) but won their last NJCAA title 20 years ago (1989) will open the 2009 season Friday at home, 3 p.m. against Neosho. Florissant Valley Women’s Volleyball, a 1976 NJCAA Champion, competed last Saturday at the SLCC-Meramec Jamboree and will play their home opener Sept. 1, 5 p.m., against Shawnee.
