All the Hard Hitting in Camp Might be Plus as Rams Open Pre-Season

BY RANDY GARDNER

Just as expected, Rams camp has been a bit harder this year than in years past. In the practices that I have been at, I have seen a lot of hitting and this is something we have not seen a lot of in past years.

It was great to see 7,000 people show up at the scrimmage at Lindenwood last Friday night. The unfortunate news though

was the injury to Donnie Avery. This guy has a lot of speed and was going to be a force at wide receiver for this team. He will be out for 4-6 weeks.

I have really impressed with all of the quarterbacks in camp. They all look really good and sharp. There is still time for the fans to get out to Rams park everyday to see practices; it’s a really cool experience.

The first preseason game is Friday against the New York Jets, can’t wait to watch it.

It looks like the team will be wearing throwback jerseys for a few of the games that will give them a retro look like we saw in the old films. Let’s go Rams

Rage In Championship Game Aug. 15

Speaking of football, how about those Rage, the River City Rage indoor football team. After having an up and down season with wins and losses, players and personnel, and a last minute house cleaning on office personnel.

The team comes up big in the playoffs and will now play for the championship on Saturday, Aug. 15 in Billings Montana. This is hard to believe but the players and coaches and ownership believes and that’s all that matters.

This would be a huge boost for this franchise for many years to come if they can bring home a championship. There are a lot of big name ex-NFL players and D1 players that will be playing in this championship game. You can go to ragefootball.com to find out more on the team and how to watch and listen to the game.

How many of you will tune out just a bit of baseball as the Rams season starts. Is this really only a baseball town? A lot of people I talk to say that the Rams take a backseat to the Cardinals. I think this would change very quickly if the Rams come out hot out of the blocks. I really think the fans are going to give this team and coach Spags a chance this year. We aren’t expecting much and that is usually when good things happen.

Last week, I wanted to conceal my identity so I went under the alias of the ghostwriter. Many people laugh at my picture from 11 years ago, the one that is pictured here. They say I look like a rat. Some people told me this week that last week was the best I looked in years as my picture was just a blank spot. I am going to try this week to update a new picture of the real me: ten years older and not much wiser. Thanks for all of the great feedback I get from reading my column.
