‘When You Know Better, You Do Better’

Financial Literacy Workshop Jan. 13

“When You Know Better, You Do Better” is a free Financial Literacy workshop set for Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 from 1-4 p.m. at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church – Parish Hall, 1220 Paddock Dr., Florissant. The workshop series is hosted by St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Social Justice Council in collaboration with Red Dough, Jews United for Justice, and Excel Center.

Light refreshments served. Transportation provided upon request. Learn why it’s important to build good credit and who needs it. Learn how to read a credit report and interpret scores . Obtain tips for using credit wisely. Discuss the costly pitfalls of credit and solutions. Learn how to obtain, rebuild & maintain a good credit history.

Filing Open for SSD Board Races in 2019

Candidates who want to apply for open seats on the Special School District Board of Education may pick up an information packet and application form at the SSD Central Administrative Offices, 12110 Clayton Road in Town and Country.

Applications will be distributed to interested candidates during regular business hours beginning at 8 a.m. Dec. 11 through noon on Dec. 21 when SSD offices close for winter break. The next opportunity for candidates to pick up applications will be during regular business hours when District offices reopen after winter break on Jan. 2.

Filing of applications closes at 5 p.m. on Jan. 15. Filing will not occur in the event that the District’s offices are closed due to inclement weather. There are two seats up for election. Both are for three-year terms.

Board terms begin in March 2019.

  • Subdistrict 3 – Parkway School District
  • Subdistrict 4 – Ferguson-Florissant, Pattonville and Riverview Gardens school districts. For more information, call the Superintendent’s Office at 314.989.8419.
