Trinity Moves Up In 3 Fall Sports

With the recent success in Football, as well as Track and Field, Trinity Catholic may have apparently seen an increase in student enrollment. On the other hand, they may not have.
When the Missouri State High School Activities Association released their Class and District Assignments for the Fall of 2018, on Aug. 17, Trinity saw three of their four sports teams move up a class. Football, Softball and Girls Volleyball each moves up from Class Two to Class Three while Boys Soccer remained in Class Two. As a result, Trinity and Lutheran North will not meet in Football this season.
In Football Trinity will be in Class Three, District Three competing with Archdiocesan Athletic Association Small Division rival Lutheran St. Charles County as well as McCluer South-Berkeley, Normandy (Collaborative), Orchard Farm, Soldan International Studies, St. Charles West and Sumner (which co-ops with Northwest Academy of Law). Trinity, McCluer South-Berkeley, Normandy and Orchard Farm will be in Class Three, District Six Girls Volleyball along with Class Three Fourth-Place finisher Incarnate Word Academy, Jennings and St. Charles High while in Softball Trinity, Jennings and McCluer South-Berkeley will be in District Five along with McCluer and Riverview Gardens. In Boys Soccer Trinity will be in Class Two, District Five with AAA Small rival Duchesne as well as Orchard Farm and St. Charles West.
McCLUER NORTH dropped a class in Football and Boys Swimming and Diving. McCluer North dropped from Class Six to Class Five in Football and will be in District Three with four St. Charles County teams — Fort Zumwalt North, Fort Zumwalt South, Francis Howell North and Lake St. Louis-based Liberty — and the top three seeds have first-round byes. Boys Swimming and Diving moved down from Class Two to Class One joining Ferguson-Florissant District high schools McCluer South-Berkeley and McCluer as well as Hazelwood East.
McCluer North will be in Class Four in District Three Cross Country and District Seven Boys Soccer as well as District Five Girls Volleyball and Softball. In Class Two McCluer North will be in District Two Girls Golf and District Five Girls Tennis.
CLASS SIX FOOTBALL — Seven high schools that were in Class Two last year will now be in Class One. That includes Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood West, defending state champion CBC, DeSmet Jesuit, Ritenour, Rockwood-Marquette and St. Louis University High. Replacing McCluer North will be Class Five state runner up Pattonville.
CLASS FOUR FOOTBALL — Returning to District Three are McCluer, Riverview Gardens, Parkway North and University City. Moving in are Hazelwood East (from Class Five, District Three), Jennings (from Class Three, District Five), Clayton and Mary Institute Country Day School (both from District Two).
HAZELWOOD CENTRAL — Besides Class Six, District One Football Hazelwood Central will also compete in Class Four in these sports; District Three Cross Country,. District Five Girls Volleyball and Softball and District Seven Boys Soccer. Central will be in Class Two Boys Swimming and Class Two, District Five Girls Tennis
HAZELWOD WEST — In Class Four Hazelwood West will compete in District Two Boys Soccer, District Three Cross Country and District Five Girls Volleyball and Softball. In Class Two West will be in Boys Swimming and Diving as well as District Five Girls Tennis. West is also in Class Six, District One Football
HAZELWOOD EAST will compete in Class Four, District Three Cross Country and Football, Class Four, District Five Girls Volleyball, Class Three, District Five Boys Soccer, Class Two, District Five Girls Tennis and Class One Boys Swimming and Diving. Softball assignment is pending, according to MSHSAA.
McCLUER will compete in Class Four, District Three Cross Country and Football, Class Four, District Five Girls Volleyball, Class Three, District Five Softball, Class Three, District Six Boys Soccer, Class Two, District Five Girls Tennis and Class One Boys Swimming and Diving.
NORTH TECHNICAL will be in Class Two, District Two Cross Country 9with Lutheran North), Class Two, District Five Girls Volleyball, Class One, District Three Boys Soccer and Class One, District Five Girls Tennis (with McCluer South-Berkeley).
LUTHERAN NORTH FOOTBALL remains in Class Two and will defend the District Two title.
