Healthiest Housing Markets in Missouri

Although it wasn’t surprising news to City of Hazelwood officials, a new study released by SmartAsset.com ranked Hazelwood as #1 on its Healthiest Housing Markets in Missouri list. All of the municipalities in the state of Missouri were compared in four key metrics: stability; risk; ease of sale; and affordability.

According to the authors of the SmartAsset.com study, “A healthy housing market is both stable and affordable; homeowners in a healthy market should be able to easily sell their homes, with a low risk of losing money over the long run.”

Using the four abovementioned metrics, the St. Louis area dominated the rest of the state, taking all top ten spots on the study’s list. Hazelwood came in first followed by Glasgow Village, Maryland Heights, Maplewood, Mehville, Bridgeton, S Spanish Lake, Crestwood, Glendale, and Florissant.

The SmartAsset.com study clearly reveals that it’s not the affluent neighborhoods in the St,. Louis area always doing well in the real estate market. Sometimes, bargain properties can be found in communities like Hazelwood that are more affordable to the pocket book.
