USA Cycling Race coming to Florissant Aug. 5

Florissant to co-host Big Shark

Bicyling Tours through Old Town

Mayor Tim Lowery has announce that the City of Florissant will be co-hosting with Big Shark Bicycle Company, USA Cycling and the Missouri Bicycling Racing Association (MOBRA) the 2023 Missouri State Championship Bicycle Races on Saturday, Aug 5 in Old Town.

This event will bring a large sense of community and competition to the streets of Old Town in a new fashion never seen before. This is actually a rekindling of a similar event that was held decades ago.

“The part we need to communicate with you, the residents, is that this race will be taking place on the streets of Old Town and certain homes will not have access to their driveways,” said Mayor Lowery. “ We realize this is an inconvenience for the residents who live in these homes. You will be able to access your home and leave your home, but your cars will need to be 1 block over for the duration of the day. There will not be times to pull your cars out of the driveways,”

The event will start around 7 a.m. as the organizers get things set up and start the registrations at 7:30 a.m. for the event. The race should end at around 4:30 p.m.
