   Until 2017-18, only seven states have sanctioned Girls High School Wrestling, According to Track Wrestling.

This winter Missouri becomes the eighth. Last April Missouri State High School Activities Association members voted 202-41 in favor of having girls wrestle on their own teams instead of wrestling with the boys. This sport for girls or women are competed at four universities within 24 miles of St. Louis — Lindenwood-Belleville (9ll.), Lindenwood (St. Charles),Missouri Baptist and McKendree (Lebanon, Ill.).

Weight Classes for Girls will be determined and will be lighter than the 14 classes for Boys Practices for Girls as well as Boys Wrestling begin Oct. 29 while Competition can begin on Nov. 16. In 2019, Districts for Girls will be on Feb. 2 while Boys Districts will be on Feb. 8-9. Release of Districts are on Nov. 9

The State Wresting championships will be on Feb. 14-16. The Girls Site is to be determined if not on the same site as the Boys, Mizzou Arena at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

   BASKETBALL — Like Wrestling Basketball begins Practices Oct. 29, jamborees begin after nine practices and the games begin Nov. 16. The road to the 2019 Show-Me Showdown I (Classes One-Three) begins with districts on Feb. 16 and ends the State Tournaments March 7-9 at JQH Arena, m Springfield (Some March 7 semifinals are at Hammonds Student Center, Springfield). The road to the 2019 Show-Me Showdown II (Classes Four-Five) begins with districts on Feb. 23 and end with State on March 14-16 at JQH Arena. The Release of MSHSAA districts will be on Nov. 9. North County Christian teams will be in the Missouri Christian State Athletic Association Tournament Feb. 14-16, 2019 in Joplin.

GIRLS SWIMMING AND DIVING — Practices begin Nov. 5, with the first week overlapping the Boys State Championships. Swimming competition and state qualifying for state begins Nov. 23 and qualifying ends Feb. 6, 2019. The State Tournament, At St. Peters Rec-Plex, is on Feb. 14-15 (Class Two) and Feb. 15-16 (Class One).

SPRING SPORTS, 2019 — The Release of MSHSAA Districts are on March 8. Practices for Girls Lacrosse, Boys Volleyball, Water Polo, Boys Golf, Boys Tennis, Track And Field, Baseball and Girls Soccer begin Feb. 25. Jamborees for team sports begin after nine days after practices begin and the season begins March 15. North County Christian Spring Sports Closes with MCSAA State May 2-4 in Joplin.

   BOYS GOLF.– Districts are on April 29-May 1, Sectionals are on May 6 and State is On May 13-14 at Sedalia Country Club (Class One), Rivercutt Golf Course, Springfield (Class Two), Columbia Country Club (Class Three) and Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club, Bolivar (Class Four)

   BOYS TENNIS — Postseason begins with Districts on May 6 with singles and doubles to follow. It ends with the State Championships at Cooper Tennis in Springfield May 23 (team) and Nay 24-25 (singles-doubles)

   TRACK AND FIELD — The road to state begins with Districts May 4 (Classes One-Two) and May 11 (Classes Three-Five). It ends at Jefferson City Adkins Stadium-Licklider Track/Field May 17-18 (Classes One-Two) and May 24-25 (Classes Three-Five)

   GIRLS SOCCER — Postseason play begins with Districts for all four classes on May 11 and ends with the State Championships at Swope Soccer Park May 29-30 (Classes One-Two) and May 31-June 1 (Classes Three-Four).

   BASEBALL — The five-class road to Car Shield Field, O’Fallon (formerly T.R. Hughes Park) begins with districts May 10 and ends with the State Championships May 27-June 1.
