The Florissant Parks & Recreation Department are offering new and innovative programs for children and young adults. In an effort to keep the schools, parents and children informed of some of these newer programs, a brief listing is as follows:
* Discover Scuba – Take the plunge in a two-hour Discover Scuba experience!
* Discover Snorkeling – Take a quick course on equipment and swimming in the sea.
* Dive-In Movie – An inner tube fun-filled event for the entire family.
* Guard Start: Lifeguarding Tomorrow Class 2009 – Youth ages 11-14 years old may learn about the responsibilities and duties of a lifeguard.
* Playtime in the Pool – A swim time for children in home daycare, daycare centers, play date groups and home-schooled groups.
* Youth Gymnastics – A recreational-structured program encouraging fun, fitness and coordination.
* Youth Soccer Program – Children learn basic skills in a positive learning environment without the “push” of competition.
* Pitch, Hit & Run – Participate in the Pepsi “Pitch, Hit & Run” program. Opportunity to advance to Sectionals, Team Championships at a Cardinal’s game, and Nationals at the 2009 All-Star Week in St. Louis!
