I wish the Olympics happened more than once every four years, actually they do if you count the alternate 2- year cycle of the winter and summer Olympics. The winter Olympics are awesome though, what a great bunch of athletes from across the world. Honestly, my favorite is the couples ice-skating. That sport takes some real talent. To lift someone up over your head and swing them around while you are skating is crazy!
I can barely pick up my 7-year-old and carry him when he is tired. We talk about football players and basketball players being tough strong athletes; these guys and gals rank right up there with them. It is also fun to see the pageantry that goes along with the Olympics, especially when the underdog wins like we have seen in many competitions so far in these games.
What amazes me the most is that these athletes train everyday for 4 years for just a couple of minutes of time and it all comes down to those few minutes. One small slip or misstep can take away 4 years of effort, or one right step can put you in the record books as forever being an Olympic Champion, which can change your life forever. There is so much money at stake in the form of advertising if you win a medal at the Olympics, it is truly a game changer or should I say a life changer.
Start now, even if it is just a little bit at a time, everyday moving forward towards your goal even at one percent a day, is moving you in the right direction. Stay strong and be healthy. I know you usually don’t take things seriously, like your health, until something is wrong and then it is all that you can think about. Don’t let that be you, be proactive about your health. Take small steps towards your goal of being a better you.
