Public Hearing
The council also held one public hearing. The hearing was about a request for an ice machine kiosk in the parking lot for the property at 350 Howdershell Road. Roy Williams and Tim O’Toole spoke to the council about the kiosk.
O’Toole had spoken to the council in a previous public hearing. “The only thing that has changed since he was here is the site plan,” Williams said. The kiosk will cause the lot to lose four parking places, which will still leave it with over 100 spaces, he said. The kiosk will be a self-service ice dispensing machine.
The council held a first reading on a bill that would approve the kiosk.
Councilman Joe Eagan had some concerns, he said, about the location of the machine, saying he thought it was too close to the entrance to the lot. Williams said they could move it over.
In other action, the council elected officers for the next year. The elected Jackie Pagano as Council President and Jeff Caputa as Council Vice-President. Both will be serving their second year-long term.
Passed a bill to authorize a special use permit to Shackelford Associates, LLC, to allow for a shopping center ground sign at 1106-1148 Shackelford Road.
Passed a bill amending the city code to modify regulations regarding commercial dumpsters.
Passed a bill authorizing the purchase of a police car to replace a car that was totaled.
