Candidates for the Florissant City Council in next year’s April 4^th election can pick up the necessary forms from City Hall, 955 rue St. Francois, from Jan. 3 to no later than Jan. 17, 2017 during regular hours, 8 to 5, Monday through Friday.

City Council races in next April 4^th election will be in Wards 2, 4, 6 and 8. Candidates for City Council must be registered voters in Florissant and have been residents in their ward for at least one year prior to the election date.

The candidates must also obtain 200 signatures of registered voters in the ward where the petition is being filed. Signatures cannot be obtained prior to opening day of filing and must be submitted on the forms provided. The petitions and affidavit must be returned to the Florissant City Clerk no earlier than Jan. 3 and no later than 5 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 17, 2017.

The affidavit that accompanies the petitions must be signed by the candidate and notarized. The affidavit will be signed and the time and date recorded by the City Clerk. The petitions must be signed by the candidate, but need not be notarized.

Names will appear on the ballot in the order of completed filing.
