Three North County High School Football teams are unbeaten through eight weeks and will now seek top seeds in district playoffs after this Friday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Oct. 15, in week nine.

Hazelwood Central (8-0 overall, 4-0 Suburban XII Conference, North Division), aim to wrap up their third straight Suburban XII North title, fifth straight including two in the former Suburban North Conference, Saturday, 1 p.m. at Class Four Riverview Gardens (3-5, 1-3). Hazelwood Central is battling 2015 state runner up CBC (7-1), which plays Friday at 7 p.m. at Class Five St, John Vianney (4-4), for the top seed in Class Six, District Two and the top seed hosts McCluer North (1-7, 1-3) while the second seed hosts DeSmet Jesuit (2-6). Hazelwood Central, thanks to four first-half touchdown passes by Antonio Triplett Jr., won 42-6 at home Oct. 8 over Hazelwood West (3-5, 2-2), which plays Saturday, 1 p.m. at McCluer (3-5, 1-3) and Oct. 21, 7 p.m., at 7-1 Ritenour or a rematch at 6-2 Rockwood-Marquette.

Trinity Catholic (7-0) has a near-comfortable lead in the Class Two, District Two Standings. Barring a major collapse Friday, 7 p.m. at Class Four St. Charles High (3-5) and a one-sided win by Lutheran North (6-2) Saturday, 1 p.m., at home against Class Three Normandy Collaborative (4-4), the Titans will host an Oct. 21, 7 p.m That game will be against the loser of Saturday’s 1:30 p.m. game between 0-8 Northwest Academy of Law and 1-7 Cleveland Naval Jr. ROTC, with that winner playing Oct. 22 at Lutheran North,

Trinity, Oct. 8, rolled on the road 56-22 over 2015 Class Three State Champion John Burroughs (3-5) as Isaiah Williams tossed four touchdown passes, two in the first quarter to Marcus Washington, while Alphonzo Andrews ran for two touchdowns.

McCluer South-Berkeley (7-0) has all but insured being the top seed in Class Three, District Five, which means playing at home Oct. 22 against a current 3-5 team — Soldan-International Studies, Jennings (a rematch) or Duchesne — most likely Soldan. McCluer South-Berkeley, which hosts Confluence Prep Academy Charter (5-3) Saturday at 1 p.m., won the Suburban Central Conference American Division (3-0) with a 44-0 rout Oct. 7 at Class Four Affton (2-6) as Tavian Willis tossed five first-half touchdown passes, two each to Jordan Cole and John White.

Hazelwood East (6-2, 3-1) will likely open Class Five, District Two at home, but a win Saturday, 1 p.m., at Class Six McCluer North can assure the Spartans of not only a number two seed behind 2015 Class Five State Runner Up Chaminade (6-1 playing Friday at 0-8 Springfield Central) but also a first-round bye. They would play at home Oct. 29 against the number three seed or the number six seed, since there are only six teams in the district. Hazelwood East won 24-12 at home Oct. 8 over McCluer thanks to three Mekhi Hagens touchdown passes, two to Dijon Walls.

CLASS FOUR, DISTRICT THREE — McCluer and Riverview Gardens, which won 24-7 Oct. 8 at Class Six McCluer North, are batting 7-1 St. Dominic, 6-2 Parkway Central and 4-4 Fort Zumwalt East for seeds two-six with seeds two-four playing at home. Davion Evers scored two second-half Riverview touchdowns against McCluer North.
