Hazelwood West Teams Win

Five District Titles In 2015-16

Hazelwood West High School Sports teams took home five District Championship Plaques while another team qualified for Sectionals.

Soccer was one sport that Hazelwood West swept. The Wildcats won Class Four, District Five Boys and Class Four, District Four Girls. Both teams fell in the sectionals including Hazelwood West Boys Soccer falling to eventual Class Four State Champion Francis Howell.

Hazelwood West won Class Two, District Four Girls Tennis and Class Five, District Six Baseball. Both teams fell in Sectionals. Hazelwood West Girls Tennis had a district winner in Singles player in Alexis Page. In Boys Tennis the Doubles team of Adedoyin Omoloja and Yuseff Albalushi won Class Two, District Four.

Hazelwood West Boys Cross Country qualified for Class Four, Sectional Two by finishing third in Class Four, District Three but finished sixth in Sectional Two. Boys Track And Field won Class Five, District Three, finished third in Class Five, Sectional Two and fourth in Class Five State.

  INCARNATE WORD ACADEMY won four district titles and qualified for sectional in Girls Golf by qualifying five golfers to Class Two, Sectional Two despite a fourth-place finish in Class Two, District Three.

Girls Soccer outscored Class Three, District Six opponents 21-0 in winning their 34th consecutive district title, their 32nd in the Missouri State High School Activities Association. IWA lost 5-0 in the Semifinal to State Champion Kansas City Notre Dame De Sion and shared third place with Visitation Academy following a scoreless draw.

Girls Basketball wins Class Four, District Six on their way to a fourth-place finish in state. Softball was a Class Three Quarter Finalist after outscoring opponents 27-3 in winning District Five but lost to eventual state champion Warrenton. Girls Tennis won Class One, District Two Team while singles player Maria Brandt and the doubles team of Genna Miller and Maura Engelhorn won individual titles.

  TRINITY CATHOLIC won their second straight Class One, District Three Girls Soccer on their way to finishing second in state to Saxony Lutheran. Girls Volleyball won their second straight Class Two, District Five title before losing in the Sectional to eventual state champion Lutheran St. Charles County. Trinity won Class Two, District Five Boys Soccer. In Boys Golf Samuel Araujo won Class Two, Sectional One after finishing in a three-way tie for 15th in District Two.

   HAZELWOOD CENTRAL Girls Track And Field won Class Five, District Three and Sectional Two but was second to Lee’s Summit West at State. Boys Basketball won Class Five, District Five before losing in the Sectional to eventual state Champion Chaminade.

   LUTHERAN NORTH won Class Two District Five Girls Soccer before losing in the Sectional to eventual state champion Duchesne, first team to win four straight. Lutheran North won Class Two, District Five Football and Class Three, District Five Baseball.

  McCLUER NORTH won Class Two, District Four Boys Tennis Team and had a singles winner in Steven Gibbons. In Girls Tennis the Doubles team of Na’kie Coleman-Elhasan And India Turner won Class Two, District Four

  NORTH TECHNICAL won Class Three, District Six Boys Basketball. RIVERVIEW GARDENS won Class Four, District Six Boys Basketball before losing in Sectional to eventual State Champion Vashon.
