At Lutheran St. Charles County

Until 2012 it is rare for North Technical Boys Basketball to win a tournament let alone winning it three years in a row at Lutheran High St. Charles County by 2014. This week North Tech attempts to enter an elite status by trying to win four years in a row at the Lutheran SC Nike Cougar Classic, since only a few win any sports tournament in four consecutive years.

Friday, Dec. 18, North Tech plays at 3:30 if the Golden Eagles lose Thursday or 6:30 if they win against Barat Academy, who the Golden Eagles won in last year’s opening round, or Lift for Life Academy, a team North Tech has played in four consecutive second-round games and won the last three in a row. Saturday, Dec. 19, the tournament concludes with games at 3:30, 5 p.m., 6:30 and 8 p.m. and North Tech would be playing Elsberry, Orchard Farm, Lutheran St. Charles County (a team North Tech won in the 2012 and 2013 championship games) or Priory (a team the Golden Eagles defeated in overtime to win last year’s title).
