Black Jack Candidacy Filing Opens For
4 City Council Seats on April 5th ballot
Black Jack will hold an election on April 5, 2016, to elect four members of the City Council, one from each of the four Wards of the City for two-year terms.
Candidates interested in one of these
positions, must file for candidacy with the City Clerk at Black Jack City Hall, 12500 Old Jamestown Road from Dec. 15 through Jan. 19, 2016. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. During holiday weeks the hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 pm and closed on the holiday
To qualify, candidates must be at least at least twenty-one years of age prior to taking office, a citizen of the United States, and an inhabitant of the city for one year next preceding his election, and a resident of the ward from which he is elected six months next preceding his election
