The Twillman House is hosting a Grand Opening on Saturday, July 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The open house will include tours of the home and information on its history and renovation.

Located at 11840 Bellefontaine Rd. in Spanish Lake, the historic home has undergone 12-year renovation spearheaded by the Spanish Lake Community Association. The home was built in 1870 by Johann Heinrich Twillman on what was then a 374-acre farm.

The Twillman House will be used as a community center for area residents and organizations, with meeting rooms available for a nominal fee. In addition to serving as the hub for area youth and community activities, it will also be home to the Spanish Lake Community Association and the Spanish Lake Community Development Corporation.
