Funeral Fund For 6-Year-old Crash Victim Set Up By Her Mom

Dezirae ThayerA traffic accident on southbound North Lindbergh claimed the life of 6-year-old Dezirae Thayer at about 9 p.m. Thanksgiving evening. An accident reconstruction team with the Florissant Police Department who investigated the scene state that one car had broken down on the road, then the other vehicle struck it from behind. The accident took place near St. Jacques’ intersection with North Lindbergh.

Dezirae was seriously injured and transported to Cardinal Glennon Hospital, where she later died of her injuries. Multiple other people in both vehicles suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the disabled car was arrested and identified as Daniel Meade, 31, of the 1600 block of Naomie in Florissant. He was originallyDaniel Meade charged with Assault 2nd and Driving While Intoxicated by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The Assault 2nd Degree charge has been upgraded to Involuntary Manslaughter 1st degree.

On Monday he was being held on a 150,000 bond at the St. Louis County Justice Center.
