For the third straight year Hazelwood Central and Christian Brothers College High (CBC) will be playing for the Class Six, District Two title and a berth in the Nov. 14 State Semifinal. but this time CBC is the defending State Champion.

The District Final (aka Quarterfinal) will be played Friday, Nov. 6, 7 p.m. at CBC Stadium. Both teams will be taking home team plaques but the winner will be guaranteed a state trophy (Semifinal, Runner Up or Champion-to be played Nov. 27, 7:30 at the Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis).

However the winner of Class Six, District Four will determine who plays at home Nov. 14, and who makes the cross-state trip. Blue Springs, with a win, will play at home because all of their district games are on the road. A Springfield-Kickapoo means a home game for Hazelwood Central, home for two home games versus three for Kickapoo, or CBC, top of the bracket match for odd years because both teams played 3 home games.

Last year CBC, in route to their first state title, smashed Hazelwood Central’s unbeaten hopes with a 45-0 home beatdown and finished the season undefeated. CBC is currently 11-0 and has won 25 straight in two seasons. The last CBC loss was in the 2013 Class Six, Disrict Two Final a 26-24 decision at Hazelwood Central, who lost their first state semifinal at Columbia-Rock Bridge, 36-33, one week later.
