Trinity, Hazelwood Central Volleyball Are Top District Seeds

Trinity Catholic and Hazelwood Central Girls Volleyball teams are each seeded first in seperate District Five Tournaments and those District winners will have to go to winners of District Six in a pair of four-team Oct. 24 Sectional Two rounds, at 2:30 or 4:30.

Sectional winners will advance to the State Championship Tournaments, Oct. 30-31 at the Southeast Missouri State University Show-Me Center, Cape Girardeau.

Trinity Catholic will play at Lutheran North in Class Two, District Five, a one-day tournament that will be played Oct. 20. Trinity will play at 5 p.m against the winner of the 4 p.m. match between Cardinal Ritter and Northwest Academy of Law, host Lutheran North and Metro follow at 6 p.m. and the Championship Match follows at 7 p.m.

McCluer hosts an all-Suburban XII Conference North Division District, Five, will open Oct. 19, 4:15 against Hazelwood East and the winner faces top-seeded Hazelwood Central Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. McCluer North will play the next Oct 19 match, 5:45, against Riverview Gardens and the winner faces second-seeded Hazelwood West Oct. 21 at 5:30. The two Oct. 21 winners will stay for a 7 p.m. Championship Match

The Class Four, District Five winner will face a Class Four, District Six winner from a tournament field that includes Incarnate Word Academy, tournament host Pattonville, Ritenour, Parkway North, Francis Howell North and Fort Zumwalt East.

   CLASS THREE, DISTRICT SIX — North Technical will be at St. Charles High and the Golden Eagles will open Oct. 19, 5 p.m. against McCluer South-Berkeley and the winner faces top-seeded Duchesne, Oct. 21, 5 p.m. Jennings will play Orchard Farm Oct. 19, 6 p.m., and the winner faces host St. Charles, Oct. 21, 6 p.m. The Oct 21 winners will stay for the 7 p.m. championship match and the winner will host Sectional Two, Oct. 24 and play at 2:30 or 4:30 against the Class Three, District Five champion.

CLASS FOUR CROSS COUNTRY — Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, McCluer North and McCluer will be among 15 high schools that will compete in Class Four, District Three, Oct. 24 at Blackburn Park, Webster Groves. The top four finishers and runners from teams finishing fifth or lower that are in the top 30 advance to Class Four, Sectional Two, Oct. 31 at Warrenton High, competing against District Four. The top four teams from Sectional Two and runners from teams finishing fifth or lower that are in the top 30 advance to State, Nov. 7 at the Oak Hills Golf Center, Jefferson City.
