Ferguson-Florissant Assistant Supt. McCoy Earns UMSL Distinguished Alumni Award

Art McCoy, Ferguson-Florissant School District’s Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education, has received the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.

The award is bestowed on UMSL alumni who have achieved notable distinction in their careers or have made significant contributions to UMSL or the community.

McCoy earned a master’s degree in education in 1999 and a Ph.D. in education in 2002 from the university.

“My goal is to serve in ways that improve the lives of others,” McCoy said.

Added Ferguson-Florissant Superintendent Jeffrey R. Spiegel, “Dr. McCoy is a consummate professional whose skill as an educator matches his passion for the students we serve.”
