A popular trend in the restaurant industry known as “Dinner Lab” wants to establish a home base in Florissant which will be able to cater to the entire St. Louis area. This was one of three restaurant proposals presented and discussed at the Florissant City Council meeting Monday, February 9.
Jessica Heflin represented Dinner Lab STL which provides a social dining experience that fuses together up-incoming chefs with diners who are looking for an alternative from the conventional restaurant experience.
“With events happening every week, we stride to bring together interesting group of strangers to one common area to share in the experience of tasting delicious cuisine from chefs from all over the country” Heflin said.
“We are hoping to set up a shop here in this fantastic area of Florissant so that we can prep 24 hours a day, seven days a week to keep up with the many different events happening around the town and the city”.
Dinner Lab STL will be looking to occupy the property located at 472 Howdershell Road.
Two bills were passed to allow the operation of Red’s BBQ which will be located at 8471 North Lindbergh, and AJB’s BBQ which will be located at 18 Patterson Plaza Shopping Center. Red’s will be a sit-down, carry-out restaurant, while AJB’s will be a carry-out, delivery restaurant.
CVS Pharmacy Postponed Again
A bill dealing with the rezoning of a CVS pharmacy was postponed again for the third straight meeting, as the council mentioned it is still in the finalization phase. The authorization to allow the operation of an Enterprise Rent-A-Car business at 1101 North Highway 67 was approved by the council. All five bills up for first reading were motioned for a second reading to be discussed at the next city council meeting.
A special certificate of appreciation from the Veterans of Foreign Wars was presented to the City of Florissant, and Mayor Tom Schneider accepted the certificate.
“We are a faith based community, we love, respect and honor those who serve for our country,” Schneider said.
“I am a veteran, having served some time in Vietnam. I hold those in the military wither here in Florissant or around the country close to my heart and appreciate the sacrifices that have been made,” Schneider said.
