Valley of Flowers to be held May 1, 2, 3; Festival Celebrates Those Who Serve

The Valley of Flowers Festival draws visitors not just from Florissant, but from the entire region. It is estimated that approximately 150,000 people will visit the three-day festival in its 53rd year this May.

Hosting a festival this size requires substantial financial assistance from community leaders and local businesses. Sponsorships are available at several price levels. The cost and benefits of each level are shown below.

Fleur di Lis Level ($1,000.00). Name and logo included in all printed and electronic media for the Festival, naming rights to a Festival event, four (4) complimentary tickets to the Queen’s Dinner on April 12, and a 10’ x 10’ space to advertise your product in the corporate sponsor area.

Rose Level ($500.00). Name and logo included in all printed and electronic media for the Festival, two (2) complimentary tickets to the Queen’s Dinner on April 12, and a 10’ x 10’ space to advertise your product in the corporate sponsor area.

Daisy Level ($250.00). Name included in all printed and electronic media for the Festival, and a 10’ x 10’ space to advertise your product in the corporate sponsor area.

Friends of the Festival – $100.00

The Valley of Flowers Committee is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Contributions must be received by March 1 in order to be included in printed media.

Queen Candidate Applications Available

Applications for Queen Candidates are being accepted now through February 27. Candidates must be 16 years of age by April 30, 2015, a junior in high school, and a resident of the City of Florissant. Candidates must be sponsored by a business; however, the business does not have to be located in Florissant. Complete rules and regulations for queen candidates are included with the application. A scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded the Queen upon completion of her reign along with many other gifts and prizes.

Parade Applications Available

The parade will be held on Sunday, May 3. Parade applicants do not have to be a Florissant resident or business, and there is no entry fee. Parade units are strongly encouraged to decorate their entry in a way that honors the parade theme: “Valley of Flowers Celebrates Those Who Serve.” Those who serve include first responders, military and veterans, educators, health professionals, volunteers, etc. More information is available by contact the Valley of Flowers office at 314-837-0033.
