Two Elections on One Ballot in District 67

Voters in District 67 will be voting in two elections for the same office. After State Representative Steve King resigned and pled guilty to using campaign funds for personal use, Governor Jay Nixon called a special election to fill the vacancy. This special election will be held on the same day as the primary. The special election will elect someone to finish King’s term, which ends in January 2015. The primary will elect candidates to run in the regular November elections for the term starting in January. The democratic, republican, and libertarian candidates running in the special election are also running in the primary election. Three other Democrats are also running in the primary election.

Ferguson Reorganized R-2 School District

Shall the Ferguson-Florissant School District, St. Louis County, Missouri, be authorized to increase the operating tax levy of the district by $0.50 to a total operating tax levy of $5.24 for all classes of property per hundred dollars of assessed valuation for the purpose of providing funds to maintain current class sizes and other educational programs, providing transportation for students, funding teacher salaries and supplemental positions such as reading teachers and other specialists, funding ongoing maintenance of school facilities,

improving school safety and security, and the ongoing funding of school district operations? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted operating levy of the school district is estimated to be $5.24 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation.

 

Florissant Valley Fire Protection District – Bond Election

Shall the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District of St. Louis County, Missouri, incur an indebtedness of the District in the amount of Seven Million One Hundred and Sixty-Five Thousand Dollars ($7,165,000) and issue the bonds of said District in evidence thereof for the purpose of purchasing real property, constructing, equipping and maintaining fire stations and purchasing and equipping ambulances and fire protection and fire-fighting apparatus and auxiliary equipment therefor?
