Highlights of Bob Lowery’s 22-Year Career of Service

The Florissant Police Station was Recently Renamed the Robert G. Lowery, Sr. Law Enforcement Center.

During his 22-year career as Florissant Chief of Police, Robert G. Lowery, Sr. held offices in numerous civic organizations and earned a long list of honors and awards.

Among his most notable contributions to law enforcement were:  Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Major Case Squad; member of the U.S. Task Force on Organized Crime in Metro St. Louis; Chairman of the Board of Governors for Law Enforcement; President of the Missouri Police Chiefs Association; and member of the Executive Board of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Post law enforcement, Lowery served as mayor of Florissant 2001-2011. He is also a past president of the Optimists Club, the North County Athletic and Social Club, and the Rotary Club of Florissant.  The U.S. Jaycees honored him with the Outstanding Leader Award.  He was named, “Man of the Year” by the Jamestown Association. He served on the board of directors for Mega Bank of St. Louis and a past director for Citizens Bank of Greater St. Louis. He coordinated the annual Law Enforcement Breakfast for several years.

And Lowery has been inducted into the Florissant Valley Community College Hall of Fame.
