Will Rams Take Johnny Football in 1st Round?

What do you do if you are the St. Louis Rams in this year’s draft? You have the 2nd overall pick and have a chance to get Johnny football, the  highly touted quarterback from Texas A&M.

A few years back, the franchise paid $50 million  plus to Sam Bradford and  things have not really panned out. If you ask me, go for it. You know with the rookie caps now that you will not be paying that kind of money anymore.

Draft Manzel and bring him in as the backup and let him win a job. This will really push Bradford to be better and if not, well he will just be the highest paid backup in NFL history. look at it this way, you have to give your team and franchise a chance to win and Bradford has had his chance.

You can’t blame it all on him though as the team has been horrible around him, you kind of feel sorry for the guy at least on the field.  I really think that we have the right coach in Jeff Fisher to take this team to the top, now let’s start putting people in the places where they need to be. Stop for a minute and think about what you would do if money wasn’t an object in this, I think most of you would say see ya Bradford, Hello Johnny Football. We will see.

Kudos for Shannon in Cardinals Hall

How about the election class into the Cardinals Hall of Fame including Mike Shannon, what do you think? I think it is a great selection. I will tell you that there are few individual voices that you hear that just make you feel like you are at home in St. Louis and Mike is one of those.

Of course, Jack Buck was another one of those voices but we all grew up listening to both of these gentlemen. You can be out of town and tune into hear the broadcast and hear Mike’s raspy voice and his specific way of telling the game and you feel like you are sitting on your couch.

This is what I like about his style is that he throws in old stories about the game, the players and the way things used to be in the league. I think that is awesome. Doing play by play and color are one of the hardest set of jobs in broadcasting and to be good at it, you certainly have a talent. He makes it so smooth. So, congrats to Mike Shannon.

Missing the Blues in Playoffs

I certainly do miss the Blues as I sit and watch all of the other NHL teams battle it out and no matter how much I don’t want to say this, I think the Chicago Blackhawks are going to win it again this year. Hey are just a solid team overall.

Watching them puts the winning of the series over the Blues into perspective. The Blues didn’t play that badly, the Blackhawks just played better hockey. I guess if the Blues can’t be in, we will take a neighboring State and rival to win it, no matter how hard it will be to live down the insults that will be coming from Blackhawk fans at every Blues game or the next 10 years. Remember it is only a game but we love it.
