Pat Stinnett Chairs Festival for Second Year

The 2014 Festival marks Pat Stinnett’s second year as chair of the event. Stinnett said he expects this year to be better than last.

Stinnett noted that last year was cold and rainy, “so at least the weather can’t be worse than last year,” he said.

“The second year, you know what you’ve gotten into,” he said. “You are surrounded by a lot of good people who have been there for a number of years.” Stinnett said the many volunteers and the festival committee make the festival run as smoothly as it does.

Stinnett said one thing he was very excited about this year was the Zoppe circus. They have eight performances scheduled, including two performances the Thursday and Friday for school kids.”

The circus will set up its tent on the Eagan Center grounds. “There are probably a lot of children who have never been to a circus,” Stinnett said, so this will be a first for them.

“The credit for this goes to Gary Gaydos, the Civic Center Theatre Director,” said Stinnett. “He has really gotten out there to find great shows.”

Stinnett also said that the petting zoo and pony rides, which were new last year, will be returning this year.

Stinnett also said he was happy about the theme of the festival this year. He said the festival committee was keeping the identity of the parade marshall a secret. “We have a  unique parade marshall who will go with the theme of the festival.”
