Winning State Swimming is usually rare for North St. Louis County High Schools, especially in the Florissant Valley area.

However for Ben Solari, Hazelwood West, winning two state swimming medals last November is very rare. Solari wrapped up his prep swimming career by winning the 200-Yard Individual Medley and the 100-Yard Breaststroke.

That was the highlight for Florissant Valley area high schools until late May.

In Boys Class Four Track & Field Hazelwood East won two state relay events. Brandon Davis, Anthony Nelson, Demarco Payne and John Nelson won the 4×200-Meter Relay while Laron Cook, Banjo Jaiyesime, Nelson and Tarell Downing won the 4×400-Meter Relay. In Girls Class Four Track & Field Tierra Jones, Hazelwood East won state in the 300-Meter Hurdles while Brianna Evans, Jaquitta Berry, Kianna Phillips and Emequa Owens, McCluer, won the 4×100-Meter Relay.

An athlete from a North County high school, outside the Florissant Valley area that stood out in Class Four was Darwin Price, Normandy. Price won the Boys 800-, 1,600-, and 3,200-Meter Runs.

In Class Three McCluer South-Berkeley dominated Girls Track & Field. Alishea Usery wrapped up her high school track career with three four-peats as she won the 100-, 200- and 400-Meter Dashes and anchored the state-winning Girls 4×400-Meter Relay. McCluer South-Berkeley also won the Girls 4×200-Meter Relay.

In Class Three Boys Track & Field McCluer South-Berkeley won the 4×800-Meter Relay, Lutheran North won the 4×200-Meter Relay and Jennings won the 4×100-Meter Relay. Tyler Shaw, Lutheran North, won the 110- and 300-Meter Hurdles while Johnathan Barnett, McCluer South-Berkeley, won the 800-Meter Run.
