At 10:18 a.m., the Florissant Police Department received a call for an armed robbery at the US Bank, 2100 North US Hwy 67. The employees provided Florissant Police dispatchers with a description of the robber and his vehicle.

Florissant officers responding to the bank observed a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle fleeing from the scene. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled southbound on US Hwy 67. The vehicle entered the City of Hazelwood, and it crashed into the concrete guardrail on US Hwy 67 at the Taylor Road overpass.

Officers from both Florissant and Hazelwood were in the process of surrounding the vehicle when they heard a single gunshot come from inside the vehicle. When officers approached the vehicle, they found the driver of the vehicle had shot himself once in the head. The firearm and an undisclosed amount of money from the bank was recovered inside the vehicle. The suspect, a twenty-five year old white male, was transported to an area hospital, where medical professionals are doing lifesaving measures on the suspect.

No shots were fired by Florissant or Hazelwood officers, and no one was injured at the US Bank.
