North County Christian School’s senior advanced history class has extended learning beyond the text book and classroom.  Three days a week, they dress in authentic World War II soldier attire and practice marching drills, gun care and use, and infantry behavior.  Their final test was held in Nevada, MO, where they participated in a WWII reenactment along with several hundred other participants.

NCCS students were assigned to a unit from a military high school, commanded by a former United States Army officer whose background was in the infantry.  The commanding officer told the students that he was impressed with their ability to follow and complete their orders in the correct manner and that in the field the students did their job with spirit and aggressiveness.

The advanced history class will study the Civil War this semester with a final reenactment in May.
