Jennings Senior High School Opens New Sports Complex

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in celebration of Jennings Senior High School’s new sports complex, which includes a turf football field, an 8-lane track, upgrades to field equipment and a concession stand. The ribbon-cutting ceremony begin after the Homecoming parade on Oct. 12. The new upgrades will make Jennings one of the only North St. Louis County districts to have a turf outdoor sports complex.

Funding for the new stadium and a host of other capital projects in Jennings was made possible through the passage of the $11.5 million Proposition J bond issue in April 2011. Board President Miranda Jones expressed appreciation to the Jennings, Flordell Hills and the Country Club Hills communities that supported Proposition J, making the renovations possible.  She shared, “We are proud of our Jennings community and the renewed Warrior spirit.”

Supt. Tiffany Anderson said she was excited about the new stadium. “It’s our goal to give our students the best possible competitive edge in academics, athletics and in the arts. We especially appreciate Mr. Spivey, the Jennings Senior High Student Council Sponsor and Ryan Wallace, the Athletic Director, who helped students plan an excellent Homecoming event.” She said.

The work was completed by sports facilities contractor ATG Sports. The turf field and all of the district’s facilities are available for rent. For more iInformation, see the  from the district’s webpage or by calling the district’s finance or facilities office at 314-653-8001.
