Florissant homeowners who would like to apply for Florissant’s Home Improvement Program can learn about the resources that are available, what qualifications are needed and how to fill out an application. The seminar will be held at the Florissant Government Building on Thursday, May 2.
Florissant’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) office provides no-interest loans of up to $5,000 to a limited number of low-to-moderate income Florissant homeowners who qualify. The loans can only be used for home repair and to address code violations.
Loan applications are available for pickup or on the City website. Completed applications will be accepted during regular business hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) at the Government Building Wednesday, May 1, through 5 p.m. Friday, May 31.
Applications are reviewed by Florissant’s Community Development Office and priority is given to low-income households. If funds remain after eligible low-income applications are met, candidates from moderate-income housing will be considered. All applicants will be notified of their status within 6 to 8 weeks.
More information about the loans and who may apply is available on Florissant’s website www.florissantmo.com or by contacting the Community Development Office at 314.839.7680 or comara@florissantmo.com
