Mayor Thomas P. Schneider said that this year’s electronic recycle event on April 8 was an overwhelming success. An overflow of people came to the event to recycle electronic devices which included TVs, computer equipment, stereos and household appliances.

The event was held Saturday April 8 in St. Ferdinand Park at the rear parking lot. The mayor said he appreciates all of the residents that came out and he thanked Midwest Recycling Center for co-sponsoring the event. “Midwest Recycling Center staffed the event with their employees and provided the necessary equipment which helped make this event another success,” the mayor said.

Adjustments to this popular event will be made to accommodate the ever increasing popularity of this environmentally friendly recycling event which is another demonstration of Florissant’s commitment to saving our environment, Schneider added.

Don’t forget on Saturday, April 22nd is the 6th Annual Free Document Shredding Day which will also be held at St. Ferdinand Park- rear parking lot from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. We timed this just right to pitch those unneeded tax documents safely.
