Giants Proves Underdog Always Has A Chance Against Arrogant Team

BY RANDY GARDNER

What a weekend it was for any football fan as the biggest game in the world saw the underdog New York Giants against the New England Patriots; a team that is so full of themselves that they thought this one was over before the game even began.

But wait, they were wrong. The Giants came out and executed the perfect game plan and forced Tom Brady to do almost nothing. A lot of credit should be given to Tom Coughlin; the Giants head coach and several of the Giants players including Eli Manning. It’s hard for me to say but I will give credit where it is due. As you know, I was an Eli Manning hater up until the start of the playoffs. As the Giants progressed through three road playoff victories, my respect grew for Eli.

After Sunday, I have all of the respect in the world for this guy. He did it. Back to back years for the Manning brothers winning the big game. I do feel sorry thought for that third Manning brother—don’t even know his name, but he doesn’t even play football. I bet you that it is very awkward for him at the family get togethers.

I wanted to see the Patriots win only for the fact that I could say that we saw history in the perfect season, other than that, that’s it. I think we all saw why we dislike Patriots Coach Bill Bilicek ; his arrogant attitude after the game told it all. I was very happy though for the Giants; as you know I always like to see the underdog win. I see a lot of myself in every underdog. It’s a tough place to play, the City of New York, I wonder if the people are being nice to each other at least for a few days, I hope.

Will There Be More On Spygate?

What do you think of the allegations of the Patriots cheating during the Rams Super Bowl losing season? A former videographer for the team has come out and said that he videotaped the Rams final walkthrough before the game. If this is true, what do you do? Is losing the Super Bowl this year justice? Are the fines and the lost draft picks justice? Or do you do a lot more to this team, a team that thinks that they are untouchable.

As of now, even if they are guilty of taping the Rams, it won’t change anything. But it will just give the fans a little satisfaction including myself that the game was tainted by the Patriots, a slap in the face of the NFL and its fans. It will be interested to see what the NFL does about it.

I know that it sounds like I am being a little harsh about all of this, but I like to see winners be winners because they won fair and square, through hard work and dedication, not cheating. For if cheaters prosper, it goes against everything that we teach our children about doing good. Do we live in a win at all cost world? It shouldn’t be, winning is something you do with all of your heart and soul in good conscious. Congratulations Giants.
