Black Jack Honors Police Sgt. Dan Seymour

The Black Jack City Council payed tribute to 35-year veteran of the St. Louis County Police Department Sergeant Dan Seymour at its City Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 20th. Mr. Seymour died this past month following an auto accident in Missouri. Dan was had been assigned to the City of Black Jack for the past 15 years, the past four of those as a sergeant.

At the meeting, Mayor Norm McCourt presented Amy Seymour and Tim Seymour, the wife and son of Dan, with a plaque commemorating his years of dedicated service to the residents of Black Jack. Dan was seriously injured in a vehicle accident in Warren County in August and passed away last month due to his injuries.

“Dan was a major part of all of our lives and he will be missed,” said Mayor McCourt at the meeting. President Pro-Tem Ben Allen and council members also expressed their sincere thanks to the family of Dan and to the support personnel from the St. Louis County Police Department on hand; “He was a man that always put a smile on our faces,” said Allen.

Dan’s wife Amy was overcome by emotion as she received the plaque that was embedded with a County Police and Black Jack emblem, “I am deeply grateful for all of the support of everyone within the City of Black Jack family”.
