Florissant Ice Rink Offers Holiday Sessions, Lessons, Winter Stick and Puck

The Florissant Civic Center has announced times for holiday ice skating sessions, lessons, and stick and puck sessions.

Ice Skating Lessons for Children

This program helps you child gain confidence on the ice and learn the skills necessary to become an accomplished ice skater. Lessons consist of instruction for all beginning skaters.

Holiday lessons will be offered over the Christmas school break. Lessons will be held on Dec. 26, 27, 28, 30, and 31. Saturday lessons will be held on Saturdays from Jan. 4 – Feb. 1.

Kiddy lessons (3-5 years old) will be held from 8:30 – 9:15 a.m., Beginner’s Lessons (6 and older) will be held from 9:25 – 10:10 a.m., and Advancec Beginner’s Lessons from 10:20 – 11:05 a.m.

Fees are $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents. Skate rental is $1.50.

Holiday Skating Sessions

The Ice Skating Rink at the Eagan Center will be open extra hours during the holiday season and days most schools are off this winter.  The Rink will be open between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the following dates: Nov. 29, Dec. 23, 26, 27, 30 and 31, Jan. 2, 3, and 20, and Feb. 17,

Fees for the sessions are $1.50 for youth residents (6-17 years old) and $3 for youth non-residents, $2.25 for residents adults, and $4 for non-resident adults. Residents with a Golden Age Pass will pay $1.75.

Stick and Puck

The Florissant Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring public hockey sessions at the Eagan Center Ice Rink.  The program will run continuously throughout the ice rink season starting in mid November and is designed to allow participants an opportunity to practice their shooting and puck handling skills in a non-game, non-scrimmage setting.  Players must wear a helmet with full face protection and gloves.  Limit of 30 players.

The sessions will run Mondays from 3:30 – 5 p.m. for skaters 15 and under, Thursday from 3:30 – 5 p.m. for skaters 16 and under and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. for skaters 16 and older.

Session will cost $4 for residents and $5 for non-residents. There will be no charge for goalies.
