North County Christian School Aims For MCSAA Boys Soccer Repeat

North County Christian School Boys Soccer is going back to Joplin looking to repeat at Missouri Christian School Athletic Association Division I Champions.

Playing at the Joplin Athletic Complex NCCS (13-7) opens the MCSAA State Tournament Oct. 25 with a 10 a.m. game against Blue Ridge, and then follows Oct. 26 against Christian Fellowship or St. Louis Christian at 10 a.m. if NCCS loses or 2 p.m. if NCCS wins. The eight-team tournament — which also includes Northland, Crosspoint, Tower Grove Christian and Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis — closes Oct. 27 as all eight teams play three games each including the 1 p.m. championship.

NCCS will also play in a National Christian Boys Soccer Tournament, Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Dayton, Tenn.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL — North County Christian will open the MCSAA Tournament in Joplin with Division I Pool Two play Oct. 25 with a 2:30 match against Community on Family Court 2 and a 9 p.m. match against HCA-Belton at Ozark Christian College. Play continues Oct. 26 as NCCS returns to Ozark Christian for a 12 noon match against Northland and concludes pool play back on Family Court 2 with a 3 p.m. match against TRCAA rival Tower Grove Christian.

There are two pools in Division I with five teams in each pool but the top four advance to bracket tournament play and NCCS hopes not to finish fifth in Pool Two. The eight teams competing in the Bracket Tournament, which begins at 5 p.m. on Oct. 26, will play three matches each including the Oct. 27 2:15 Championship Match. All Bracket matches will be played at Ozark Christian except the Oct. 27 10:30 Semi-Final match, to be played at Joplin North Middle School.
