Jason Kelinske, Food Brand office manager, is “Flamingoed” by Colleen Simon, Florissant Valley Chamber Board of Directors and director of Village North.

The Florissant Valley Chamber of Commerce board, staff and membership embraced a new form of doing a membership drive this month when over 100 businesses in the Florissant, Hazelwood, Black Jack and Spanish Lake areas received their personally delivered membership presents.

The membership drive is uniquely entitled “You’ve been Flamingoed by the Florissant Valley Chamber of Commerce.”

Flora the Florissant Valley Flaming is the mascot of the chamber. Having a chamber mascot lends a little fun into the daily business routines of the membership. A flamingo can be presented to a member at meetings, events or on Flamingo Friday’s when staff and members go out and meet with the membership.

The chamber encourages each business visited to unwrap their presents and open up to the benefits the chamber has to offer. No matter if you are a large chain store or a small office your business benefits from being a member of the chamber and so does your community.

The chamber will be contacting those business that were “Flamingoed” and invite them to a special reception in their honor on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Yacovelli’s Restaurant and Banquet Center from 11:30 a.m. to Noon.

Any business that would like to be “Flamingoed” call the Florissant Valley Chamber of Commerce at 314-831-3500 or visit vthe web at www.florissantvalleycc.com.
