Incarnate Word Academy Alumnae Association will celebrate the life of Katie Campanella at a Spring Boutique to be held in the IWA gymnasium on Thursday, April 19 from 5 to 9 p.m., The event will include more than 13 vendors as well as appetizers, dessert and attendance prizes.

In 2011, Katie and her sister Beth were involved in a car accident. The tragic event resulted in the loss of 11-year-old Katie’s life, and Beth sustained serious injuries.

“Katie was a fun-loving, energetic and kindhearted 11-year-old with a smile that lit up the room,” said Katie Eagan, Spring Boutique co-chair. The event will support the  Katie Campanella Visual Arts Scholarship Fund.

In January, Beth returned to join her junior class at IWA. In addition to her sister, Katie’s mother and aunt walked the halls of IWA, and she intended on following their paths.

The $2,000 scholarship will be awarded yearly to a student with an interest in drawing, painting or photography. The first scholarship was awarded this year to an incoming freshman.

The boutique will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to Katie’s scholarship fund. Tickets are $5 for students and $25 for adults. Each ticket gives guests access to vendors such as Scentsy, Beijo Bags, Usborne Books, Cutco and many more. The opportunity to sponsor the event is also available.

Ticket, sponsor and donation information is available online at iwacademy.org(Alumnae-Events-Spring Boutique-SB Ticket Order). Those interested can also call Megan Crane, director of Recruitment and Alumnae Relations at (314) 725-5850 Ext. 184. Reservations should be made no later than April 11.
