The Mighty Confluence? Post author:independentnws Post published:February 3, 2012 Post category:Features Post comments:0 Comments One would normally expect to see rushing waters on both sides where the Missouri River meets the Mississippi at the Confluence. This photo was taken Sunday at the Columbia Bottoms overlook of the rivers, just past where the two great rivers meet. As you can see the lack of rainfall (or snow) has kept the river down to the point that the sandbars on the west bank almost appear like a sand beach.
