Jeremy Thomas Selected MSSU Homecoming King

Missouri Southern State University students and Jeremy Thomas, Florissant, and Samantha Evans, Blue Eye, Mo., were crowned 2011 “Hollywood” Homecoming Queen and King Friday, Sept. 30 on the MSSU campus.

Thomas served as an intern at The Independent News during his 2011 summer break covering local issues and sports.

King Jeremy was sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (CAB). He is the son of Richard and Marquita Thomas of Florissant. He is a senior Mass Communications major. He is involved in the Campus Activities Board, the MSSU student newspaper The Chart, and MOSO Poetic Nature.  He has served as a Southern Ambassador.

After graduation from Missouri Southern State University, he plans to pursue his graduate degree, possibly at the University of Missouri, or begin a career in journalism in the St. Louis area.

Homecoming Queen Samantha Evans was sponsored by the Residence Hall Association.  She is the daughter of Jack and Jodi Evans of Blue Eye, Mo.  She is a sophomore Criminal Justice Administration major.
