Preseason Might Not Mean That Much, But it’s Better For Rams to be 2-0 Than 0-2

Have you bought your Super Bowl tickets yet? I have been talking to a lot of people who say that they have a renewed energy about this Rams team. I actually do too. I know both of the preseason wins weren’t that pretty,  but they were wins. So many people say that the preseason doesn’t mean anything and it actually doesn’t but in reality I think it means the world.

How much more fun is practice for the guys when the team is winning and how about the aura of the fan base? Would you rather be saying, yep the same old team, same losing ways. No, its nice to say the Rams are 2-0. The Rams will be on the road for the final two pre-season games so that will be a challenge for the franchise.

I love the fact that the Sam Bradford is letting loose and throwing long. What a way to start off the last game than a long bomb to Brandon Gibson, a throw that we really never saw last year. I am really excited about the fact that we are seeing the franchise moving in the right direction.

What’s With Fights in the Stands?

As you get older, you start to see the world in a different light and that is how I saw this past weekend and the violence that occurred at the San Francisco and Oakland game. There was a huge fist fight in the stands and then a shooting outside of the stadium. What the heck is wrong with the world these days, is there no humanity? There is way to much violence in this world from the daily news to cartoons, It is everywhere.

Something has to change. It is a shame that 65,000 fans go to a sporting event with their kids to see a game and they see this nonsense. I think that there needs to be a more severe punishment for crap like this and maybe it will stop. The thought of fighting like this repulses me.

Birds Can’t Put a Streak Together

It is a good thing that the Rams are started and playing well and the Blues will be starting soon because baseball in this town has fallen off the edge. The Cards just cannot put together a string of wins, they actually haven’t been able to do it all year long. (Four is the most wins in a row.) I think there appears to be  no way that the Cards can make up the ground with the Brewers. Milwaukee is on a streak that nobody ever saw before from this team.

At least Fall is just around the corner and the temps will be great to see a game at Busch at night. Throw that light jacket on and enjoy an evening. If you want to see a ball team that is still in contention though, check out the River City Rascals as they look to defend their championship season from last year. The tickets are cheap and the games are a lot of fun. Check it out.
