Works to Begin Soon on Fontaine/ Anthony Lateral Sanitary Relief Project

Florissant Mayor Tom Schneider has announced the Fountain/Anthony Lateral Sanitary Relief project is set to begin construction late spring/early summer of this year. A date for a public meeting will be announced soon.
This project will feature the installation of approximately 9,300 feet of new sanitary sewer lines, ranging in diameter from 8-36 inches, extending from New Florissant Road to just beyond Lindbergh Blvd. at Coldwater Creek The work is in Wards 5 & 6.
This project has an estimated budget of over $4 million and aims to eliminate multiple basement backups as well as remove sanitary sewer overflows into the creeks. The contract has been awarded to Unnerstall Contracting Company and construction will be complete no later than December 2012.
Residents are encouraged to attend a public meeting to be held at city hall prior to the start of construction.  The date and time of the meeting will be posted on the city’s website www.florissantmo.com and on the city’s cable channel.
