Hazelwood City Council Approves Three Proclamations Honoring N. County Leaders

The Hazelwood City Council unanimously approved three proclamations issued by the City at a recent meeting.  Two of them were for the Greater North County Chamber’s 2011 Board Chairman Scott Schneider and 2011 Outstanding Business Person of the Year Bob Gianino.  The third one recognized Hazelwood School Board member Diane Dowdy for her leadership in enhancing the academic excellence of the community’s public school district.
Both Schneider and Gianino will be honored at the Chamber’s Outstanding Business Person of the Year and Annual Installation Dinner, scheduled for April 15 at Yacovelli’s Restaurant and Banquet Center.
Schneider will be inducted as the Chamber’s Board chairman after serving as the vice chairman and chairman of the 2011 Business Showcase and Family Fair.  He has been a member of the Chamber’s Board for seven years.  As a 20-year employee of US Bank, Schneider is the vice president and manager of the branch office located at 2100 North Highway 27 in Florissant
Gianino, marketing director of White Auto Body, is going to be honored as the Chamber’s 2011 Outstanding Business Person of the Year.  After starting White Auto Body in 1994, he has supported the North County area through his involvement in several community and civic organizations.  Gianino currently serves on the Chamber’s Board of Directors as well as the Board of Directors of Valley Industries
Dowdy was first elected to the Board of Education of the Hazelwood School District in April 1999.  After 12 years of serving her community in this capacity, she is leaving the Board this spring. She has served  as a member of the Hazelwood West High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), the Fine Arts Boosters and the Marching Wildcat Boosters, as well as many District committees.  Dowdy has lived in North St. Louis County for 22 years.  She is married to her husband,
