County Police Report a 20% Drop in Crime for Black Jack

At the March 1 Black Jack City Council Meeting, Sgt. Frank Kardasz of the St. Louis County Police Department presented the annual crime report for the year of 2010, it showed that reported crime is down 20 percent across the board in the City of Black Jack.

Although Black Jack has consistently low overall crime numbers, the overall drop in the crime rate within the city was good news to city officials.  In 2010, the overall rate of reported crimes fell 20 percent from the previous year.

Mayor Norm McCourt of Black Jack stated, “It is especially heartening that our already low crime rate continues to fall. It takes a combination of the St. Louis County Police Department, city officials and the watchful eye of our residents to defeat crime. “
