The Pillars of North County celebrated the life of one of their residents, Maude Holton who turned 100 this month! Maude  said she doesn’t feel 100.  She has friends all over the building and among the  staff, and they showered her with hugs and kisses on Feb. 4.

Although she never  had children, she has a big family who had planned a big party  until the snowstorm hit in the first week of February, and many could  not come from out of town.  That party was scaled down for just the family and friends in town.

Maude loves music and church  and is a very kind and affectionate lady, her fellow residents and staff say.  She has a great sense of humor.  At her birthday party, she was entertained with  some of her favorite songs performed by Ed Kauffman of the Silver Belles.  Her friends at the Pillars gave  her a bouquet of red roses (shown in photo above) and a big bunch of balloons.  The room was decorated in red and pink, with a banner on the wall specially made  for her that said “Happy 100th Birthday, Maude!”.  Of course there was cake and  Maude had two pieces.  When asked what was the secret to living so long, she replied “serve the Lord.”
